Minimize your ecological impact when you travel! Ecolibrium Sustainable Adventures is working with Sustainable Tourism International to help our clients to help offset their flights while traveling. All projects have to verifiably reduce greenhouse gas emissions according to international Kyoto protocol and where indicated to the CDM Gold Standard, they must be Green-e certified, or they must meet the standards set forth by the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Alliance. Furthermore, STI has criteria that focus on each project’s economic, ecological and social impacts as well as the proficiency of our project partners. This approach ensures long-term sustainable development solutions. Offset projects are located in China, India, Indonesia, Madagascar, South Africa, and United States. For more information on these programs you can visit www.sustainabletravelinternational.org Our plans for the future are to include carbon offsetting for the land operations for all of our tours. We will also be working with STI to calculate the carbon imprint each tour leaves on the environment. Meanwhile we have chosen to design our tours with minimal air travel, and short land travel distances as much as possible.
